Amazon Singapore – Get Free Shipping to Singapore

amazon-free-shipping-to-singaporeAmazon Free Shipping to Singapore

Yes, you heard it right.  Amazon is now offering free internal shipping to Singapore and India; that’s mean you can now buy things directly from Amazon.com and have them sent to your doorstep without paying the shipping charge.  This will save you quite amount of money for paying the package forwarder or freight forwarder on the expensive delivery charge.  Though, there are some terms and conditions you need to be aware of.  So, how to be eligible for Amazon free shipping to Singapore?  We will discuss in detail below, it will be a very long-winded post, but after reading this, we guarantee you will have a very clear understanding on how Amazon free shipping to Singapore works.

First of all, to qualify for Amazon free shipping to Singapore, your order place at Amazon has to be:

  • At least USD$125 in total amount.
  • All ITEMS have to be eligible for the AmazonGlobal Program and sold by Amazon.com.
  • Total weight less than 20 pounds (9.07kg).

Here is the description of AmazonGlobal Saver from Amazon.

Remarks: For any reason, if you think that the item is suppose to be eligible for free international shipping but the system is behaving differently.  You can always put the item into your shopping cart, then you contact Amazon Customer service to clarify.  They will adjust it for you if the item is eligible for free shipping to Singapore.

We will show you how to search for the eligible items in a step-by-step tutorial, but now let us look at what are the exclusion of AmazonGlobal Program?

Basically, some oversize items, e-documents, software or music downloads, gift cards, Kindle devices and its accessories are not qualified.  It is quite disappointing that Kindle is in the exclusion, but you can always refer to this on how to buy Kindle in Singapore.

[Updated] You can also visit this page for a complete list of all the products which are available for Amazon free shipping to Singapore and international shipping to other countries.

Now, we are going into the hands-on tutorial on how to buy things from Amazon and get free shipping to Singapore.  In this tutorial, we will be using the examples of buying Lego toy building brick from Amazon and ship it for free to Singapore.

First of all, search the item you want to buy, key in the product name, model number or brand in the Amazon search bar.  We are searching for ‘Lego’ brand in this example.  Click the ‘Go' button and all the related products will be displayed.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_01

Referring back to the above screenshot, at the left side bar, scroll down and ‘check’ “AmazonGlobal Eligible”.  (If the is an option to select the Seller, ‘check' “Amazon.com” for items sell by Amazon only, if you didn't see the Seller option, make sure you click on the proper product category, then you should be able to see the Seller option).  Now the displayed products will be filtered and left with the products which are eligible for international shipping.  Do take note that even these products are filtered, for some reasons, certain products are not eligible for FREE SHIPPING to Singapore, these could be due to the weight or size of the products, or for unknown reason.  Click here to view the actual filtered page.

For the purpose of this tutorial, we will be showing you THREE different scenarios below so that you have a clearer picture and know what to do when you shop at Amazon:

Scenario 1: We have selected a product which is not eligible for “AmazonGlobal”.

Scenario 2: We have selected a product which is eligible for “AmazonGlobal” but offers NO FREE Shipping.

Scenario 3: We have selected a product which is eligible for Amazon free shipping to Singapore.

Below screenshots demonstrate the purchase of items mentioned in scenario 1 and 2:

We are adding a product which is not eligible for “AmazonGlobal” into the cart.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_02

Now, we are adding a product which is eligible for “AmazonGlobal” but offers NO FREE Shipping into the cart.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_03

Now we have two items in the cart, proceed to checkout and select your Singapore shipping address.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_04

Select ship to Singapore address.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_05

The system will immediately prompt you that your cart consists of ineligible item.  You just need to delete the item by clicking the delete button.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_06

This demonstrate the ineligible item cannot be shipped at all.  Now we are left with item mentioned in scenario 2, since the amount is more than USD$125, we will continue to checkout this item.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_07

Choose your shipping options; please take note that there is no option for “FREE AmazonGlobal Saver”.  That’s mean this item is not eligible for Amazon free shipping to Singapore.  If you have many items in your cart, you may need to find out which item that causing the problem.  An easy way to check your item is to move it to “Save for later”.  (if the item is obviously eligible for AmazonGlobal but the system shows ineligible, you may try to contact Amazon customer service, they may waive the shipping fee for you, no harm to try isn’t it?).  However, in this example, we will choose the “AmazonGlobal Standard Shipping” and proceed to see what will happen?

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_08

Choose the payment method and continue.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_09

Now the system will show  the order summary.  As shown below, there is a shipping & handling charge of USD29.69 for sending this item to Singapore.  Personally, I will proceed with this order because the shipping fee charged by Amazon is still cheaper than routing the item through freight forwarder.  Unless you want the item urgently and want to take advantage of the Amazon Prime FREE two-day shipping and get the freight forwarder send the item to you via express mode.

Amazon Free Shipping to Singapore

Now, we will demonstrate the Scenario 3, which is the smooth process of getting the Amazon to ship the item to Singapore for FREE!  We select the item as shown on the screenshot.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_11

We add 3 units in order to qualify for AmazonGlobal Saver(total amount exceed USD125 and qualified for free shipping).

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_12

Proceed to checkout and select your Singapore shipping address.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_13

Now, you will come to the shipping options page, as you can see, there is an option called “FREE AmazonGlobal Saver”, that's mean this order is eligible for Amazon free shipping to Singapore.  Be aware that it is not selected by default, make sure you select this option by clicking it and also make sure the “Group my items into as few shipments as possible” is checked.  Click Continue to select your payment mode.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_14

Select the mode of payment.

amazon_free_shipping_to_singapore_15

On the Order Summary page, you will see that the “Shipping & handling” charge is offset by the “AmazonGlabal Saver”.  That’s mean you do not need to pay any shipping charge for sending this package to Singapore!  Hit the “Place Your Order” button and the job is done.

There are some items you need to take note of:

  • Make sure your total purchase amount is not exceeding SGD$400, this is to avoid paying extra custom duty. (more info about custom duty on Singapore Customs website)
  • If you have too many items, just split them into two separate orders with minimum of USD$125 each.
  • If you have too few items to get USD$125, try to consolidate some orders from your friends.

How long does it take to deliver the package from Amazon to Singapore?

If there is no out-of-stock situation, usually it will reach your doorstep within a week.  Sometimes, when your order items cannot be delivered at the same time, Amazon will split your order into two separate deliveries without extra charge.

Most of the items sold by Amazon are cheaper than Singapore, without paying extra for the shipping charge now allow you to save even more!  As long as your items met the AmazonGlobal Saver criteria, you can now forget about paying high shipping charge for freight forwarding service, especially those freight forwarders who aggressively sending you the promotional email to entice you to buy from Amazon.  They will not tell you about Amazon Free Shipping to Singapore!

So, we should be wise, don’t pay for a service where you can get it for free.

However, there is only one thing we can’t be sure,  that is, will this Amazon free shipping to Singapore last forever?  We won’t know.  If you have something in your wish list, let’s shop now and start to save!  Click here to shop now.

**[Updated] Alternaively, you can visit this page for Complete Products List which is eligible for Amazon Free Shipping to Singapore.

Hi, just like to ask if they give you a tracking number once the parcel is shipped?

    • SingaBoleh May 24, 2017, 12:11 am

you can track your shipment status in the Amazon account, from USA all the way to your doorstep.

  • Reggie May 15, 2016, 4:39 pm

Why is it that I have to pay GST on the actual good price + the handling and delivery charges from the seller?

As an example: Selling price of item: USD 1,000; Shipping & Handling Charge fm Seller: USD 300 (DHL – bulky item). GST is 7% of USD 1,150 instead of USD 1,000? It shouldn’t be based on landed cost in SG, right?

  • terry Mar 13, 2016, 11:09 pm

You say no Duty below $400.00 but what about GST? Must we pay GST on the cost of the items, plus shipping costs etc?

    • SingaBoleh Mar 15, 2016, 10:12 pm

In other word, it also mean that no GST as long as you keep your purchased below S$400 (inclusive delivery fee, if any).

    • terry Mar 15, 2016, 11:05 pm

      Cool, thanks for that information!

  • Andy Mar 3, 2016, 5:06 pm

Hi, Singaboleh. I just read through your tutorial. It is clear and reader-friendly. Thanks for your share. However, I am still confused about one question when I try to purchase fuji camera. Please clarify for me and thanks for your advice in advance.
1, I saw that camera is eligible from the complete list. So I go amazon website to order one. However, I found that this camera is not supplied by amazon. So is it possible to ship item from third party provider to Singapore without paying tax?
    Cheers!

    • SingaBoleh Mar 5, 2016, 9:33 am

Thanks Andy, if the item is sold by Amazon, then it is not eligible for free shipping to Singapore, and yes you can ship it through third party package forwarder but that would incur extra delivery cost, it usually cost about $25-$35 for a camera, you can read this post on how to use package forwarder.

  • Nora Feb 25, 2016, 10:12 pm

    Hi SingaBoleh,

Since you are the expert here, I have some questions to ask.
I am trying to buy only books from Amazon and the total amount comes out to be USD$127. Can I check with you if the parcel is shipped directly from Amazon or will there be another forwarder agent repacking the items engaged by Amazon? Is there is, will there be any additional charges?

Please advise and thank you so much for your time.
    Nora

    • SingaBoleh Feb 26, 2016, 7:43 pm

Hi Nora, if the books are sold by Amazon, they will be shipped directly from Amazon to your doorstep with no additional charges.

      • Nora Mar 9, 2016, 3:57 pm

        Hi SingaBoleh,
Thank you for your advice. I placed my order on Feb 27 and my order arrived today on Mar 9. I was assigned to Aramex courier. I was so worried after reading the Aramex reviews. But I think am lucky and it’s a nice lady who delivered right at my doorstep! Books arrived intact with no damaged box! Will continue to be a repeat customer. : )

    • SingaBoleh Feb 24, 2016, 7:48 am

Hi Chang, to enjoy the FREE shipping to Singapore, the product must at least met the basic criteria, i.e. the product has to be sold and ship by Amazon, you can filter the product search to met those criteria like what we have shown in our tutorial, you can CLICK HERE to view the clipper product that we have searched.

As for the windproof mic, we try to broaden the search keyword and only found few products HERE that is eligible for FREE shipping to Singapore.

Please do take note that, although other products are not eligible for free shipping, it doesn’t mean that you cannot buy them; in fact you still be able to purchase them and send them to Singapore via package forwarder. You can read the tutorial HERE on how to use package forwarder service.

Hi, I came across your website while searching for information on purchasing from Amazon, here are some questions I have:

    1. With the free shipping, we could just ship directly from Amazon to our local address? Instead of using services such as Bordelinx or vPost?

    2. The credit card details and address in the account page will be our local information and it would process accordingly?

    3. The amount at the checkout page will be the final amount? Will there be any hidden cost to it?

    Thank you

    • SingaBoleh Feb 22, 2016, 8:49 pm

Yes, Amazon will ship directly to your doorstep in Singapore and yes, use your local information for credit card. The final charge will be clearly display on the summary page before you hit the ‘place order’ button, there is no hidden cost. To enjoy the free shipping to Singapore, you need to understand the criteria of the eligible products. We have covered those information in Amazon Free Shipping post and we also listed some product that are eligible for free shipping HERE.

I would like to purchase Hello Kitty cafe from Amazon US amounting to USD131.30 but the shipping & handling fee cost SGD867.87. Am i able to order from US amazon with free shipping?

    • SingaBoleh Jul 22, 2015, 1:50 pm

You need to check if this item is eligible for free shipping to Singapore, i.e. it must bwe sold by Amazon.com and it can be shipped outside USA. The other criteria are the total order must be at leas USD$125 and no exceeding the allowed shipping weight. If you are sure the item is eligible but the system not show free shipping, you can just put the item into the shopping cart, then you contact the Amazon customer service via email to inform them. They will assist to either change the shipping fee or refund the shipping fee after you ordered.

  • yashril Jul 19, 2015, 9:25 pm

    • SingaBoleh Jul 21, 2015, 9:23 am

Hi I want to purchase a thermometer from amazon n it cost usd 31.11 only. It states free shipping if exceeds usd 35 but this not mean free shipping to singapore right. I’m first time using this I hv done all the steps given above. I reach the confirm page there is a sgd n usd selection. If I select sgd will there be any issue? Thks in advance

    • SingaBoleh May 30, 2015, 1:10 pm

It is ok to display your preferred currency, however displaying USD will be easier since the product price on Amazon is in USD. For your thermometer, you need to consider if it is still cheaper than buying locally after added the shipping fee. The best is to have your total order hit USD 125, then you will enjoy the free shipping fee to Singapore. Clothing, baby products, toys and electronic gadgets are some of the popular items you can get them cheap on Amazon.

  • khine Feb 15, 2015, 10:22 pm

    hello
i want to order ps4 discs from amazon
in amazon website over 35 dollars free shipping to singapore , do i need to pay any extra tax if i order 4 ps4 disc s that worth 100 dollars

and what about ps4 console also , this is heavy and more than 400 dollars

    • SingaBoleh Feb 16, 2015, 11:18 am

Before answering your questions, we presume that you already know how to identify items that eligible for free shipping to Singapore.
      1. To get free shipping to Singapore, you total order need to be at least US$125, and you only need to pay tax if your total order is exceeded Singapore Dollar $400, you will see the total amount charged or any tax incurred in your order summary before you place order.
      2. Same to the ps4 console, if the amount is exceeded Singapore Dollar $400, then you will need to pay tax, but you need to compare if paying the extra tax is cheaper than buying locally?

  • Jo Dec 18, 2014, 11:56 am

My stainless steel water bottle arrived from Amazon with a big dent, which is the best way to ship it back within $20 that Amazon will compensate for shipping? Do I use Singpost or are there better options? Look forward to your help, thank you very much!

    • SingaBoleh Dec 23, 2014, 1:33 pm

sorry for the late reply, was unable to login into our own website, lol.

I’ve got an item being shipped under the Amazon Global Saver. It’s in transit but still in USA. If I cancel my order, will I have to pay for return shipping?

    • SingaBoleh Oct 24, 2014, 10:09 am

Normally you can’t cancel the order once is shipped, but you can return the item for a reason. It is best to contact the Amazon customer service for assistance.

  • Jamie Aug 17, 2014, 4:21 pm

    Hi,

Thanks for your blog. I am looking for dual monitor arm desk mount and I click AmazonGlobalEligible as mentioned above. I found an item: LX Dual Stacking Arm costing $228.99 under the search which I am interested to purchase. Item weighs about 18.6 pounds. However, when I check out accordingly, there is no button for me to click the Free Amazon global saver, only 3 choices ie Amazon Standard, Expedited or Priority. Appreciate if you can advise where I did wrong that I cannot enjoy this free shipping to singapore. Thanks

    • SingaBoleh Aug 18, 2014, 12:31 am

We believed you are referring to this product. (click the link to see)

For sure you did nothing wrong, this usually happened under 3 circumstances:
      1. oversize item.
      2. heavily over-discounted price item.
      3. Amazon system error.

Your case is most likely due the their system error. We suggest you login to your Amazon account, put the item into your shopping cart, then click here to contact them via email, tell them the product you’re facing problem, quote this link (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201214790) and tell them that the item fulfilled all the Free AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping criteria but you cannot find the free shipping during checkout.

If this is due to their system error, they will ask you to purchase the item and give them the order details so that they will waive off the shipping charge.

Hope this helps. Do support us by sharing or recommend our website to your friends via Facebook or any channels. Thanks!
P/S: hope you will share the outcome here after Amazon reply you.

    Hi,
Thanks a lot for your useful info.
I’m new to Amazon – may I ask:
    1. Is it worthwhile buying iPad / hard drives from Amazon?
    2. Can food be shipped into SG?
    Thanks!

    • SingaBoleh Jul 22, 2014, 8:41 pm

      Hi Kim,
We have replied your queries in this post.

  • Hassan Jul 1, 2014, 3:55 pm

    Hi,

    Please clarify the below:

Assuming I place an order of USD200, but the combined weight of my items is 30 pounds. Will there be any additional charges?

I read on some websites that this USD125 order needs to weight less than 9Kg. Can you please verify?

I find it pointless, spend so much money and then buy cheap trinkets so that they weigh less than 9Kg?

    • SingaBoleh Jul 1, 2014, 4:41 pm

Yes Hassan, the maximum weight is 9 kg (huge and bulky items are not entitled for free shipping too), we believe that is fair enough since Amazon is offering the free courier shipping from USA. If your ordered items are overweight, the free shipping option will not display on shipping selection page. If you have many items to purchase, split your order into two or more. Just take some time to get familiar with Amazon shopping and you will find many items are selling very cheap comparing to local retail stores.

  • Bernard Jun 26, 2014, 11:13 pm

Hi can i check with you if i want order somethings from amazon japan , can u teach me how to order because i want to somethings they keep saying that the item cannot ship to my address. Pls help me thanks.

    • SingaBoleh Jun 28, 2014, 9:24 am

So far we understand that Amazon Japan prefers to deal only with buyers in Japan, they has blocked most of the package forwarders, unless you have friend in Japan to receive your purchase.

  • Thomas May 18, 2014, 5:38 pm

    Hi,

I am looking to purchase some items on Amazon which does not qualify for free shipping to Singapore.

Is there a quick way I can estimate the cost of shipping via Amazon vs external shipping vendors in order to find out the most economical route?

    • SingaBoleh May 18, 2014, 11:30 pm

There is no quicker way to do these currently.
Vendor: use their shipping cost estimation tool.
Amazon: put the item into the cart and checkout all the way to the order summary page, you can see the actual shipping cost, no actual sales incur as long as you do not click the “place order” button.

  • Joanna C. May 11, 2014, 11:00 pm

Hello! I’m planning to purchase from Amazon for the first time and avail of this free shipping offer. I would just like to know, based on your experience, what delivery service Amazon subscribes to? Do they deliver by post or use a courier? Thanks in advance for your response!

    • SingaBoleh May 11, 2014, 11:54 pm

      Hi Joanna,
They use a few courier services ranging from USPS, UPS to DHL. Some products arrive within two weeks, and some within few days. However, we cannot select which courier to deliver.

  • jeff tan May 11, 2014, 10:19 am

Do we need to buy US$129 per item ?
can we combine our other orders .

    The amazon is much confusing
and that defer me to using it,

i m using taobao , where user interface are much easier.

    • SingaBoleh May 11, 2014, 12:22 pm

Hi Jeff, is combine order, you can buy many low price items, as long as your total amount exceed US$125.
You need to spend sometime to get familiar with Amazon platform and you can really get good buy from it, especially with free shipping to Singapore.
Taobao and Amazon has their own uniqueness, if you observe carefully, you may notice that many merchants on Taobao are selling authentic items bought from Amazon too.

  • Alex Feb 26, 2014, 7:26 am

If I order more than USD125 worth of goods but less than SGD400, would I have to pay any import duties and taxes?

    • SingaBoleh Feb 26, 2014, 2:52 pm

No, if after conversion is less than SGD400, no import duties will be charged. The order summary page will show if your order incur any tax, you can always amend the order before clicking the ‘place order’ button.

      • Alex Feb 27, 2014, 1:27 am

        Thanks for the clarification!

  • Audrey Dec 17, 2013, 6:15 am
